IT System Development Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IT System Development Manager to lead the technical development of key system initiatives for a leading dairy manufacturer. The role is based in Christchurch (with an option in Hokitika) and will bridge business teams with digital experts to deliver robust, scalable solutions that support strategic and operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and management of core systems including Oracle EBS ERP, Warehouse Management System, Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Power Automate.
• Ensure system development is high-quality, standardized, efficient and fully traceable.
• Continuously improve development processes and promote agile practices.
• Contribute hands-on to technical development and mentor a small high-performing team.
• Maintain compliance with global quality procedures, regulations and corporate standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in software development and managing development projects in medium to large organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead small technical teams with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
• Strong collaborative mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.
