Inventory Manager

About the role

This role is for a professional who truly understands inventory management in a large‑scale, high‑volume distribution environment. You will join a newly established distribution operation where inventory accuracy, system integrity, and rapid decision‑making are essential to keep the business moving. The position is fast‑paced, detail‑oriented, and continuously evolving.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the inventory function across a major distribution centre.
• Manage a team of four staff across morning and afternoon shifts.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies across multiple systems.
• Reconcile data between Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ERP platforms.
• Drive cycle counts, stocktakes, and initiatives to improve inventory accuracy.
• Support automation and exception‑handling processes.
• Build and enhance inventory processes and controls.
• Collaborate closely with operations and systems teams to ensure accurate and efficient stock flow.

Required profile

• Proven inventory management experience in a large, fast‑moving warehouse or DC environment.
• Strong analytical capability and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously and make quick decisions.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including formulas, VLOOKUP, reconciliation and spreadsheet analysis.
• Experience working across WMS and ERP systems.
• Previous leadership experience managing teams across shifts or multiple work areas.
• Passion for root‑cause analysis and process improvement rather than firefighting.
• Experience in retail distribution, FMCG or large‑scale 3PL environments is highly regarded.
