Health & Safety Advisor

About the role

The Health & Safety Advisor will develop and maintain the site Health & Safety Programme, influencing culture and engagement across the site. Reporting to the Site Manager and supported by the national Health & Safety team, the role is central to ensuring a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and promote a health‑and‑safety‑focused culture by building relationships with site representatives, including the H&S Committee.
• Manage, implement and communicate the health‑and‑safety framework, improvement initiatives, and legislative requirements.
• Maintain a health‑and‑safety strategy that safeguards employee wellbeing.
• Lead post‑serious‑incident investigations and manage follow‑up actions.
• Monitor compliance across all health‑and‑safety functional areas.
• Refine and optimise the injury‑management process, ensuring site‑wide adherence.

Required profile

• Extensive background in Health & Safety, preferably within manufacturing.
• Qualified in Health & Safety with 2‑5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of health‑and‑safety business solutions and the balance between safety and production.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and manage cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Leadership qualities that align with Silver Fern Farms values.
