Drainlayer

About the role

Abergeldie is seeking an experienced Drainlayer to join its New Zealand team. You will install, test and certify drainage systems on civil and water projects, working closely with excavators, shoring gear and site crews to deliver safe and accurate work.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test and certify drainage systems on a variety of infrastructure projects.
• Set out drainage layouts and ensure work complies with standards.
• Operate alongside excavators, shoring equipment and site crews.
• Support daily site operations and coordinate with subcontractors and project teams.
• Maintain safety, environmental and quality procedures on‑site.

Required profile

• Current New Zealand Registered Drainlayer or Journeyman Drainlayer certification.
• Class 1, 2 and 4 licences and a Working with Traffic (WTR) endorsement.
• Current First Aid certificate.
• At least five years of drainlaying experience.
• Ability to read and interpret civil and drainage plans.
• Good communication, teamwork and adherence to safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Basic computer skills.
