Automotive Technician – Full Time – Rotorua

About the role

Ebbett Rotorua is seeking three full‑time Automotive Technicians to join a brand‑new dealership in Rotorua. You will work with a range of EV, PHEV and HEV brands, gaining exposure to leading electric vehicle technologies while supporting the service department’s rapid growth in 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a variety of vehicle makes, including KIA, BYD and MG where applicable.
• Utilise state‑of‑the‑art workshop equipment to ensure high‑quality workmanship.
• Maintain workshop standards, safety procedures and customer‑focused service.
• Participate in regular manufacturer training sessions in Auckland.
• Assist in achieving Master Technician / Master EV status through ongoing development.

Required profile

• Automotive Trade Qualification with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Clean full driver’s licence.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication.
• Can‑do, customer‑quality focused attitude.
• WOF certification preferred but not compulsory.

Required skills

• Automotive diagnostics.
• Knowledge of EV, PHEV and HEV systems.
• Familiarity with KIA, BYD or MG vehicle platforms (advantage).
• WOF certification (if held).
