Analyst Level 1 – Business Intelligence

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Analyst Level 1 to join the Business Intelligence team within the Ministry of Justice’s Sector Insights unit. In this role you will turn raw data into actionable insights that help justice agencies make informed decisions and drive improvements across the sector.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate a wide range of justice‑sector issues using available data, both with predefined hypotheses and exploratory analysis.
• Prepare, manipulate, and maintain data sets to support operational decision‑making.
• Develop and share clear, compelling narratives that communicate findings to diverse stakeholders.
• Utilise tools such as SQL, SAS and PowerBI to create dashboards and reports.
• Collaborate with other teams in Analytics, Research, Data Response and Reporting to ensure data consistency and quality.

• Tertiary degree in a relevant discipline.
