Support Worker – Horowhenua, Kapiti & Mana

About the role

IDEA Services is seeking compassionate Support Workers to help adults with intellectual disabilities live independently in their own homes across Horowhenua, Kapiti and Mana. You will assist clients with daily living tasks, promote skill development and provide a safe, supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with transportation, employment support, finances and shopping.
• Prepare meals, clean living spaces and support personal hygiene such as showering.
• Administer medication and help clients develop independence in daily activities.
• Work flexible daytime, evening, overnight and weekend shifts as required.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic about a career in disability support; no prior experience required.
• Flexible availability for a range of shifts, including sleep‑over assignments.
• Physically fit and able to provide necessary physical assistance.
• Hold a full New Zealand driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy and daily use of tablets.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
