About the role
IDEA Services is seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Support Workers across Horowhenua, Kapiti and Mana. You will help adults with intellectual disabilities live independently by providing daily living assistance and fostering skill development.
Key responsibilities
- Assist clients with transportation, employment support, and financial tasks.
- Prepare meals, shop for groceries, and maintain a clean living environment.
- Support personal hygiene activities such as showering and dressing.
- Administer medication as required and monitor health needs.
- Provide overnight and weekend care, including sleep‑over shifts.
Required profile
- Positive attitude and strong desire to work in the disability sector.
- Physical fitness and resilience to manage challenging situations.
- Full New Zealand driver’s licence.
- Flexibility to work daytime, evening, overnight and weekend shifts.
Required skills
- Proficiency with computers and tablets for daily documentation.
What we offer
- Hourly rate of $24.68–$30.13 (NZD) depending on qualifications.
- Support to achieve Level 2‑4 Certificates in Health and Wellbeing.
