Site Engineer – South Island

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer based in the South Island to provide technical leadership and engineering support across New Zealand projects. The role involves design support, tender development, and mentoring site teams while maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support to site teams to ensure successful delivery of civil construction projects.
• Undertake engineering design, calculations, and review of technical solutions to resolve construction and design issues.
• Work with procurement and operations teams to develop high‑level construction methodologies for tenders and project planning.
• Conduct site visits to advise on engineering matters, quality assurance, and compliance with project specifications.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders while mentoring and supporting the development of site engineering personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5–10 years post‑graduate experience in civil construction and infrastructure delivery.
• Proven ability to manage or support the delivery of civil projects.
• Strong technical design and calculation capability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites across New Zealand as required.
