Service Technician – Forklifts & Materials Handling Equipment

About the role

A well-established and growing materials handling business in Canterbury is looking for a Service Technician to support its range of premium forklifts and materials handling equipment. The role combines field service and workshop work, covering servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, breakdowns and repairs, with autonomy and plenty of technical variety.

Key responsibilities

• Service, diagnose and repair forklifts and materials handling equipment in the field and workshop
• Carry out maintenance, inspections, fault-finding and breakdown repairs
• Build strong customer relationships and give equipment advice
• Complete service reports, job cards and tablet-based documentation
• Follow health and safety procedures while spotting further service opportunities for customers

Required profile

• Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic or similar trade background
• Experience in diagnostics, fault-finding and equipment repairs
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Committed to safety, quality workmanship and customer service
• Strong communication skills and confidence using technology
• Full New Zealand driver's licence
