Service Desk Engineer – 6‑Month Contract in Christchurch

About the role

We are looking for a Service Desk Engineer to provide first‑line IT support for a large organisation in Christchurch. The role involves resolving hardware, software and access issues while delivering excellent service to end users.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for IT support requests.
• Assist users with hardware, software, access and device‑related issues.
• Log, track and manage incidents using a ticketing system.
• Troubleshoot problems and support device setup and replacements.
• Escalate complex issues to senior teams when required.
• Support meeting‑room and collaboration technology.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in a Service Desk or IT Support role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
• Experience using ticketing tools such as ServiceNow.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Proactive, well‑organized with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Relevant IT qualification preferred.
• Ability to work onsite in Christchurch.
