CRM Functional Architect

About the role

As a CRM Functional Architect at Avanade, you will design and configure complex Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement solutions for clients across New Zealand. You will act as a trusted advisor, bridging business requirements with technical delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead functional design and configuration of Dynamics 365 CE modules (Sales, Customer Service, Field Service).
• Facilitate workshops to elicit, document and validate business requirements.
• Translate business processes into functional specifications, user stories and solution designs.
• Collaborate with technical architects on configuration, customisation and integration design.
• Provide quality assurance for functional deliverables, reviewing designs and test plans.
• Support pre‑sales activities including effort estimation, solution scoping and proposal writing.
• Mentor junior consultants and business analysts.
• Manage client relationships as the primary functional point of contact.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in CRM consulting or functional architecture roles.
• Strong stakeholder management and client‑facing workshop facilitation skills.
• Experience guiding junior team members and managing workstreams.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MB‑210, MB‑230, PL‑200) or working towards them.

Required skills

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE functional configuration (Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Marketing).
• Power Platform – Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI.
• Dataverse, Common Data Model and Azure integration patterns.
• Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• DevOps practices for D365 CE, including ALM and CI/CD pipelines.
