Senior UX Designer (Fixed Term - 12 Months)

About the role

Fisher & Paykel is hiring a Senior UX/UI Designer for a 12-month contract within its Digital Function, based at its new Global HQ in Penrose, Auckland. Reporting to the UX Practice Lead, you will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team to create premium digital experiences across the web and ecommerce channels, shaping how customers discover, explore and engage with the brand online.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute across the full design process, from discovery and ideation through to high-fidelity design, validation and implementation.
• Create intuitive, accessible and commercially effective digital experiences that reflect the Fisher & Paykel brand.
• Translate customer needs, business requirements and user insights into concepts and wireframes.
• Work with developers on design handoff and implementation.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with proven strength in visual and interface design.
• Experience designing digital products, ideally across web, ecommerce or other customer-facing environments.
• Strong understanding of customer journeys, digital commerce and usability, accessibility and customer behaviour.
• Ability to work with developers and collaborate across Digital, Product, Brand, Content, Marketing and Customer Care teams.
• Naturally curious, able to challenge existing thinking and take ownership from design intent through to implementation.

Required skills

• Extensive experience in Figma with disciplined workflows and file management.
• Contributing to or evolving a Design System, including tokens, components, variants, modes and documentation.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools such as AI-assisted prototyping and generative design.
