Senior Architectural Visualisation Artist (Multimedia Designer)

About the role

The Boundary, a digital architecture studio founded by award-winning architects, is looking for a Senior Architectural Visualisation Artist (Multimedia Designer) to join its growing Pre-Rendered team in Freemans Bay, Auckland. The role is full time and permanent (40 hours per week), paid $100,000 - $130,000 per annum, and offers complete autonomy leading projects from concept to final delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects from start to finish, producing images, animations and VR experiences with complete independence
• Translate architectural design packages (drawings, schedules) into compelling visual content
• Lead clients, mentor peers and direct creative outcomes
• Work closely with the team in the Auckland studio, with some flexibility for hybrid work (fully remote candidates are not accepted)

Required profile

• Minimum of 6+ years of experience, preferably in a studio environment; significant industry experience (5+ years) as a Multimedia Designer is also considered
• A comprehensive portfolio showing attention to lighting, composition and cinematic language
• Ability to understand architectural drawings and schedules and turn them into visuals
• Strong leadership, curiosity, growth mindset, teamwork and willingness to give and receive honest feedback

Required skills

• Core ArchViz pipeline: 3ds Max and Corona/Vray, with excellent file hygiene
• Traditional animation workflow, including camera animation and moving assets
• Editing software such as After Effects and Premiere
• Experience with Unreal Engine or AI-integrated workflows (ComfyUI/SD) is a major plus
