Senior Consultant - Tax

About the role

Deloitte New Zealand is seeking a Senior Consultant to join its Tax team in Tauranga. You will work with a diverse portfolio of SME and corporate clients, providing expert advice on a wide range of tax matters while developing your technical and leadership capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of clients, delivering tax compliance and planning services.
• Prepare and review income tax returns and tax provisions.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks, ensuring timely compliance with statutory deadlines.
• Support clients in resolving tax disputes and achieving business objectives.
• Stay up‑to‑date with current and pending tax legislation and its interaction with global tax functions.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of experience in a professional services or corporate tax environment.
• Professional qualification in law or accounting.
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end tax processes and the New Zealand tax landscape.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and client‑focused skills.
• Commitment to developing people and fostering an inclusive team culture.
