Senior Communications Advisor

About the role

The Senior Communications Advisor will support ACC’s Longer‑term Horizon Programme, helping leaders and staff understand and engage with strategic change. Reporting to the Internal Communications Manager, you will work closely with programme leaders and senior executives to translate complex, long‑term concepts into clear, actionable messages.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver internal communication plans that align with the programme’s milestones, risks and emerging themes.
• Produce concise content, updates and materials that explain what is changing, why it matters, and how it connects to ACC’s future direction.
• Collaborate with the Programme Communications and Engagement Lead to ensure consistency across enterprise channels.
• Identify communication risks, issues and opportunities, providing proactive advice to senior leaders.
• Manage multiple workstreams, balancing priorities and deadlines in a fast‑changing environment.

Required profile

• Significant experience in strategic, internal or change communications within a large, complex organisation.
• Proven ability to advise senior leaders and executives on communication matters.
• Strong storytelling, stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills.
• Resilience and sound judgement when navigating ambiguity.
• Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.

• Salary range $101,287 – $131,077 per year (NZD).
