About the role
We are seeking a Senior Advisor Digital Communications to join the Environmental Protection Authority’s Communications and Customer team in Wellington. The role focuses on creating, managing and publishing clear, accessible digital content that supports the EPA’s mission to protect New Zealand’s environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and publish web pages and documents across EPA websites, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with external providers to maintain high‑quality digital experiences and resolve technical issues.
- Advise internal teams on best practices for online publishing, accessibility standards and plain‑language communication.
- Translate complex environmental information into user‑friendly content that helps the public understand their obligations.
- Support the Customer Experience sub‑team in building trust and confidence in the EPA through effective digital communication.
Required profile
- Minimum five years’ experience in digital communication, online publishing or a related field.
- Strong eye for detail and a commitment to accessibility and plain‑language principles.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple priorities.
Required skills
- Experience with website content management systems (e.g., Silverstripe, Squiz).
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices for digital content.
