Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting and Business Advisory practice in Nelson, New Zealand. You will work directly with a diverse portfolio of individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies, delivering high‑quality financial statements and tax returns while building strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies.
• Produce management reports and cash‑flow forecasts to support client planning.
• Provide accurate, timely advice on tax liabilities and filing deadlines.
• Utilise a range of accounting software to optimise client processes.
• Maintain high standards of efficiency and accuracy in all accountancy services.

Required profile

• Proven accounting experience in a public practice environment.
• CA or CPA qualification, or actively working towards one (desirable).
• Strong analytical ability and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to develop positive relationships with colleagues and clients.

Required skills

• Experience with accounting and tax software (specific platforms not listed).
