Section Manager – Night Shift

About the role

The Section Manager – Night Shift leads the night‑shift production team at Silver Fern Farms, ensuring safety, quality, output and team performance align with company values and customer requirements. This permanent, onsite role is responsible for all aspects of night‑shift operations, acting as the key decision‑maker to maintain smooth, efficient, and uninterrupted production.

Key responsibilities

• Support all departments in organising teams to maximise production outcomes and resource utilisation.
• Champion continuous‑improvement initiatives and the Streamline program across the site.
• Advise, coach and mentor production leaders, developing their leadership capability.
• Build and maintain an uncompromising safety culture throughout the night shift.
• Oversee safety, quality, output and team performance, making decisions to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience in a senior production leadership role, preferably in red‑meat processing or a similar FMCG environment.
• Proven track record in training, coaching and mentoring team members.
• Strong knowledge of employee‑relations principles and workforce management.
• Solid understanding of regulatory and hygiene compliance requirements.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and delivering financial targets.
