About the role

Join the Platypus Shoes team in Rotorua as a Sales Assistant, helping customers find the perfect footwear while supporting store management in achieving sales and operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and create memorable shopping experiences.
• Assist the Management team with daily store operations and visual merchandising.
• Drive sales by actively engaging shoppers and promoting product ranges.
• Maintain stock levels, conduct inventory checks, and ensure the store is tidy and well‑presented.
• Process transactions accurately using the point‑of‑sale system.
• Open and close the store according to company procedures.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to outstanding customer service.
• Passion for streetwear, sneaker culture and footwear trends.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, energetic team environment.
• Self‑motivated with a focus on meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Full availability for late‑night trade and weekends.
• Previous experience in retail, hospitality or similar customer‑facing roles.
