Relationship Manager – Small Business

About the role

The Small Business Relationship Manager will be responsible for building and managing a portfolio of small‑business customers for ANZ in Timaru. You will act as the primary point of contact, delivering tailored financial solutions and proactive advice to help clients grow and succeed.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and expand profitable relationships within an assigned portfolio of small‑business customers.
• Gain a deep understanding of each client’s business model and provide customised banking solutions.
• Promote ANZ’s value‑added products, workshops and specialist services to meet client needs.
• Drive portfolio growth while maintaining strong, long‑term relationships with existing clients.
• Represent ANZ in the local market through networking and clear communication of the bank’s value proposition.
• Collaborate with internal business teams and broader bank functions to support client growth.
• Deliver high‑quality customer service to strengthen professional networks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in relationship management, business development or account management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset.
