Registered Nurse (Casual) – Theatre

About the role

We are seeking casual Registered Nurses to work in the theatre department of Forte' Hospital in Christchurch. The role involves providing nursing care across a range of surgical specialties, including orthopaedic, gynaecology and obstetrics, plastics, urology and maxillofacial procedures. Flexible, weekday availability (Monday‑Friday) is required, and the position may progress to permanent roles when four new operating theatres open in 2027. Successful candidates will join a multidisciplinary team, supporting both routine and complex surgeries while collaborating with surgeons, anaesthetists and peri‑operative staff. Required profile

• Registered with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand.
• Available to work on a casual basis Monday to Friday.
• Able to support theatre operations in orthopaedic, gynaecology & obstetrics, plastics, urology and maxillofacial specialties.
• Qualified Operating Department Practitioners (scrub, scout or circulating) are welcome to apply.
