Clinical Educator – Theatre (0.6 FTE)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Educator to lead learning initiatives for our theatre staff at Forte Health, a modern private surgical hospital in central Christchurch. The role focuses on developing the workforce, delivering engaging education programmes, and supporting continuous improvement across the operating theatres.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Specialists and the Quality team to design and deliver theatre‑focused education programmes.
• Facilitate professional growth and competency development for theatre staff through coaching, mentoring and workshops.
• Monitor and evaluate learning outcomes to strengthen workforce capability and drive quality improvement.
• Provide ad‑hoc casual support in the theatre as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of theatre experience in New Zealand, preferably across multiple surgical specialties.
• Relevant postgraduate qualification in clinical education, nursing, or a related health discipline.
• Proven ability to facilitate, coach and mentor staff, delivering effective learning experiences.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
