Project Engineer – Powder Handling

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Project Engineer – Powder Handling to join our Hamilton team. The role combines drafting, design, implementation and commissioning of powder handling projects for the food industry.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine concept designs in close collaboration with clients.
• Manage budget estimates and cost control for powder handling projects.
• Create detailed mechanical engineering designs, including P&IDs, fabrication layouts and mechanical drawings for milk‑powder projects.
• Prepare as‑built drawings and comprehensive technical documentation.
• Participate in on‑site project installation, commissioning and validation, with travel as required.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of engineering experience in powder food process design.
• Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Process Engineering (NZCE preferred).
• Strong understanding of process technology, standards and functional specifications.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage projects from concept to completion.
