Project Director – Northern Region

About the role

Ventia’s Electrical business is seeking a Project Director for the Northern Region, based in Auckland. You will be accountable for operational performance, commercial outcomes and strategic growth across a diverse portfolio of high‑voltage projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead an electrical contracting branch with full P&L accountability (>$70M revenue).
• Identify, secure and deliver growth opportunities, fostering a “win and deliver” culture.
• Oversee delivery of major HV electrical projects in generation, transmission, distribution and industrial sectors.
• Strengthen relationships with key clients such as utilities, infrastructure owners and developers.
• Drive operational excellence in safety, quality and program performance.
• Lead national business improvement initiatives, including workforce capability and systems uplift.
• Partner with Commercial, Finance and People & Culture leaders to ensure sustainable performance.
• Manage geographically dispersed teams across multiple sites.

Required profile

• Seasoned operational leader with senior experience in electrical contracting or infrastructure services.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale HV infrastructure programs across multiple locations.
• Full accountability for a business unit with revenues exceeding $50M.
• Strong commercial mindset with success in winning new work and growing existing client relationships.
• Polished, credible leadership style and ability to develop high‑performing teams.
