Production Supervisor – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

Graymont (NZ) Ltd is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead frontline operations at its Otorohanga and Te Kuiti plants. You will ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑effective production and dispatch of Quicklime and Hydrate products while upholding the company’s Zero Injuries commitment.

Key responsibilities

• Promote health, safety and environmental standards; report and investigate incidents, near‑misses and hazards.
• Coordinate and supervise daily activities of frontline operational employees, allocate resources and monitor work execution.
• Develop and manage production plans based on sales forecasts and inventory requirements.
• Oversee product dispatch, liaise with transport providers and ensure accurate documentation in JD Edwards (JDE).
• Manage site inventories of consumables, create purchase requisitions and support supplier enquiries.
• Identify and implement improvements to safety, efficiency, productivity and operational performance.
• Maintain effective relationships with employees, contractors, management and suppliers.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead and coach frontline operational teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Experience in production planning, dispatch coordination and inventory management.
• Capability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and engage employees.

Required skills

• Proficiency with JD Edwards (JDE) ERP system for production data, inventory and dispatch documentation.
