About the role
The Materials and Management Department is seeking a Procurement Business Partner to join the Pacific Area Office in Auckland. This permanent, full‑time position supports the Church’s mission by managing purchasing activities, collaborating with internal requesters and external suppliers, and ensuring best‑value outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Manage purchasing requests from sourcing through delivery, including price analysis and vendor evaluations.
- Negotiate pricing and contractual terms and complete all required procurement documentation.
- Provide technical and specialised procurement support to internal requesters.
- Foster strong supplier and partner relationships to ensure high performance and satisfaction.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of procurement or purchasing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of effective purchasing and sourcing principles.
- Strong negotiation skills and a customer‑service focus.
- High professionalism, integrity, and sound judgement aligned with Church values.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for up to two weeks when required.
- Proof of legal right to work in New Zealand; a police background check may be required.
