President, Marsh Risk New Zealand

About the role

Marsh Risk is looking for a President for its New Zealand business, based in Auckland. This is a hybrid role with at least three days a week in the office. Reporting to the President, Marsh Risk Pacific (Melbourne), the President is responsible for the strategic, financial and operational performance of the business, including growth budgets and targets, and acts as the main face of Marsh Risk externally with partners and regulators.

Key responsibilities

• Drive go-to-market strategies, solution innovation and technical skills development, and pursue client opportunities
• Enable short- and long-term strategies and ensure financial success through pricing, growth and efficiency plans and resource deployment
• Collaborate with Marsh Pacific and other Marsh businesses to grow Marsh in New Zealand
• Deliver the country's business and practice solution strategy, including profitable growth and commercial excellence
• Engage in top client deals, M&A prospecting and expansion of the business portfolio
• Lead sales and servicing staff, drive colleague engagement and retention, and lead technical development
• Represent Marsh to internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, as a brand ambassador
• Build competitive capability across segments and practices, and explore intersections with Marsh Re and Oliver Wyman

Required profile

• Proven senior executive track record in insurance broking or a related professional services environment
• Demonstrated P&L leadership at business-unit or country level
• Deep understanding of the New Zealand insurance and risk landscape, including regulation
• Strong commercial acumen and leadership ability to build and retain high-performing teams
• Executive presence with regulators, media and industry stakeholders
• Track record of change leadership and business transformation
• Network across New Zealand's corporate, government and financial services sectors
• Bachelor's degree; advanced qualifications or professional designations preferred
