Paving Contracts Manager – Auckland & Northland

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Paving Contracts Manager to lead the delivery of asphalt projects across Auckland and Northland. The role combines operational oversight, financial management and team leadership to ensure contracts are completed safely, on time and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver projects within budget and forecasted margins, preparing financial forecasts, monthly reports and claims.
• Oversee project planning, site scoping and methodology development to meet specifications with minimal rework.
• Allocate people, plant and equipment effectively, maximising utilisation and ensuring compliance with pre‑start and operational requirements.
• Lead, coach and develop high‑performing frontline teams, conducting regular performance and development reviews.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers, anticipating and resolving issues to maintain service excellence.
• Champion a Zero Harm safety culture, leading safety initiatives, site observations and risk management.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in construction or paving environments.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of managing contract financials.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers, supervisors and clients to achieve operational and financial targets.
• Commitment to safety, sustainability and delivering high‑quality outcomes.
