About the role
Philips is seeking a customer‑oriented Field Service Engineer to join its Medical Imaging team in New Zealand, based in either Christchurch or Wellington. The role involves supporting multiple imaging modalities, including MRI, CT, DXR, IGT and Ultrasound, and providing expert technical advice on installation, maintenance and service.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with the wider organisation to deliver exceptional customer service, including corrective and preventative maintenance, commissioning and equipment upgrades.
- Participate actively in the sales process, offering technical support from pre‑sales through implementation and post‑sales.
- Lead technical escalations, ensuring stakeholders are updated throughout the resolution process.
- Provide best‑in‑class service by determining cost‑effective repair solutions to minimise equipment downtime.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of new technologies through continuous training and development.
- Work reasonable additional hours and on‑call support as required by equipment criticality.
Required profile
- Tertiary qualification in Electronics, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent engineering/service experience.
- Customer‑facing service engineering experience in the medical or biomedical field, with hands‑on exposure to one or more imaging modalities.
- Strong IT skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.
- Current Restricted Electrical Licence (preferred) and a full New Zealand driver’s licence.
- Legal right to work in New Zealand; police checks will be required.
