Part-Time Payroll & Bookkeeping Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Payroll & Bookkeeping Administrator to join Rubiix Accountants on a part‑time basis. The role offers 15 hours per week, mainly remote with a brief on‑site presence each fortnight, providing variety and autonomy in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with New Zealand regulations.
• Maintain and reconcile bookkeeping records, including bank statements, invoices and expense reports.
• Prepare basic financial statements and reports for senior accountants.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Respond to client queries related to payroll and bookkeeping in a timely manner.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in payroll processing and bookkeeping.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage a 15‑hour weekly workload.

Required skills

• Payroll software proficiency (e.g., MYOB, Xero, or similar).
• Bookkeeping tools and accounting software knowledge.
• Excel or spreadsheet competence for data analysis.
