MRI Medical Imaging Technologist

About the role

The MRI department of Wellington regional hospital is looking for a qualified MRI Medical Imaging Technologist (MRI diagnostic radiographer) to join a motivated, innovative and forward-thinking team. The role is based in the MRI department within a collegial and supportive environment, offering opportunities to develop MRI skills as part of a tertiary hospital service provider.

Key responsibilities

• Perform MRI scans using the department's two Siemens scanners, a 3T and a 1.5T model.
• Take part in the MRI on-call roster and work rostered and rotating evening and weekend shifts.
• Provide tertiary scanning services such as breast biopsy, cardiac, advanced neuro, research, paediatric, geriatric and ICU imaging.
• Adapt technique to meet patient needs; additional training and support is offered if there is no prior experience of these techniques.
