Manager, Assurance – Sustainability Reporting & Assurance

About the role

Based in Auckland, you will join PwC New Zealand’s ESG Reporting & Assurance team, helping clients navigate the evolving sustainability reporting landscape and strengthen the credibility of their sustainability disclosures.

Key responsibilities

• Lead sustainability assurance engagements from scoping through planning, execution, review and reporting.
• Serve as the primary day‑to‑day contact for clients, building trusted relationships.
• Coach and guide engagement teams, reviewing working papers and deliverables.
• Support clients with sustainability reporting frameworks such as Aotearoa New Zealand Climate Standards, Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards, the GHG Protocol and PCAF.
• Manage engagement quality, risk, timelines, resourcing and budgets to ensure successful outcomes.

Required profile

• Relevant bachelor’s degree in accounting, sustainability or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in professional services, audit or consulting with strong exposure to sustainability reporting, GHG emissions measurement, ESG reporting or assurance.
• Proven experience leading engagements or workstreams and coaching junior staff.
• Ability to navigate complex technical matters and develop pragmatic, defensible solutions.
