Machine Operator – Manufacturing

About the role

Join the Hamilton plant that has been producing Melteca board for over 40 years. As a Machine Operator you will work in a safety‑driven environment, setting machine parameters, monitoring performance and making real‑time adjustments to ensure smooth and efficient production. The role includes rotating shifts (4 days on, 4 days off – 2 days, 2 nights, 42‑hour week).

Key responsibilities

• Set and adjust machine parameters using digital control panels.
• Monitor system performance and make real‑time adjustments.
• Operate forklifts to move materials safely.
• Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain a safe, clean and efficient production area.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of hands‑on experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proven ability to operate industrial machinery and forklifts safely.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
• Physically fit; able to lift up to 25 kg and work at heights or in confined spaces.
• Quick learner with solid technical aptitude.
• Basic computer literacy for navigating digital control systems.
• Preferred: Class 1 full driver licence and OSH forklift licence.
• Willingness to undergo pre‑employment medical testing and criminal history clearance.
• Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.
