Lead DevOps Engineer

About the role

Education Perfect is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to own the reliability, security, and operability of its large‑scale EdTech platform. You will shape the technical standards across the engineering organisation and mentor engineers while driving automation and AI‑enhanced workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
• Create self‑service tooling, reusable infrastructure patterns, and workflow automation to improve developer experience.
• Define high‑level architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and compliance with ISO 27001 and GDPR.
• Own site reliability: monitoring, observability, incident response, on‑call rotation, and cost optimisation of third‑party services (e.g., Datadog, Akamai).
• Embed AI into the DevOps and security toolchain for automated code analysis, policy enforcement, and security reviews.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading DevOps initiatives on AWS for large, distributed platforms.
• Strong background in building and scaling CI/CD pipelines, especially with GitHub Actions.
• Hands‑on knowledge of security compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 and GDPR.
• Ability to coach engineers on operational best practices and drive technical standards.
• Willingness to participate in on‑call rotations and incident response.
