Inbound Business Development Representative, SME & Growth

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system for global commerce, is looking for an Inbound Business Development Representative to join its New Zealand team in Auckland. You will manage small business leads end to end: contacting them, gathering the information needed and closing the sale. The role sits in the SME & Growth Business team, which works with small and medium-sized enterprises to streamline cross-border payments and unlock new revenue streams.

Key responsibilities

• Contact customer leads, collect the key information needed and close the sale
• Work with stakeholders to optimise workflow, client onboarding and compliance, and give insights to the Growth team
• Develop relationships with prospects, uncovering needs through effective questioning to qualify interest and viability
• Update activity and contact information in the CRM system and support reporting
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Marketing to improve targeting and messaging

Required profile

• 1-2+ years' track record of success in sales
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Passion for talking to customers, listening to their needs and explaining the benefits of Airwallex
• Driven to achieve KPIs and focused on a great customer experience
• Great communicator on the phone and by email, with strong customer rapport
• Team player able to collaborate across diverse global offices
• Self-starter who thrives in a hyper-growth environment

Preferred: start-up and fintech experience.
