Account Executive, SME & Growth

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is hiring an Account Executive for its New Zealand team in Auckland. The role sits in the SME & Growth Business team, which works with small and medium-sized enterprises to streamline cross-border payments and unlock new revenue streams. You will sell the Acquiring, Card, FX and Payment API products to eCommerce retailers, marketplaces, online travel agents and other industries suited to the product.

Key responsibilities

• Hunt proactively for new business opportunities across New Zealand, using your network and experience in the SME segment.
• Own and drive the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing for new logos.
• Negotiate partnership agreements and commercial contracts with legal, finance and strategy.
• Build and manage a robust pipeline and help define best practices for the NZ sales team.

• Skilled seller with proven success in tech sales, able to grow market share.
• Thrives on independence and takes initiative, with a track record of carrying quotas and hitting revenue targets.
• Collaborative, able to work closely with teams and customers.
• Strong communicator, comfortable talking to everyone from tech experts to everyday people.
• Simplifies complexity and offers tailored solutions for unique use cases.
