Health & Safety Advisor - Commercial Construction

About the role

A highly respected commercial construction contractor delivering a landmark $100M+ project is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor through Beyond Recruitment. Reporting directly to the HSE Manager, you will support site teams in maintaining a positive safety culture and the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing throughout the project lifecycle. The HSE Manager is described as committed to mentoring, training and supporting professional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the project's H&S systems
• Conduct site inspections, audits and safety observations
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions
• Facilitate toolbox talks and safety briefings
• Monitor subcontractor compliance and site inductions
• Support risk assessments, task analysis and safe work planning
• Promote positive safety behaviours across site teams
• Prepare H&S reports and maintain project documentation
• Assist with environmental and wellbeing initiatives

Required profile

• 3+ years' experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, civil or related industries
• Relevant Health & Safety qualification or working towards one
• Good understanding of NZ health and safety legislation
• Full NZ driver licence
