Head of Commercial (ANZ)

About the role

This senior commercial leadership position supports a 24/7 medical assistance and emergency repatriation service operating across the ANZ region. The role balances commercial performance with the delivery of critical human outcomes, reporting directly to the CEO APAC.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial performance across key insurer and global client accounts.
• Own pricing strategy and commercial governance for core service lines.
• Make high‑value case decisions that balance care, cost and risk.
• Strengthen margin discipline through cost containment and smarter provider economics.
• Build and influence relationships across hospital and supplier networks.
• Partner with operations to improve workflows, service delivery and client experience.
• Be escalation‑ready in a 24/7 environment.
• Lead and develop a small specialist team covering cost containment, medevac/repatriation and inbound client services.

Required profile

• Strong commercial backbone with experience in pricing, negotiation, contract terms and margin ownership.
• Credibility with senior insurer stakeholders; calm, firm and trusted.
• Sound judgement under pressure and ability to make live decisions.
• High emotional intelligence and maturity to balance care outcomes with commercial realities.
• Comfort working in regulated, risk‑heavy environments with reputational stakes.
• Hands‑on style with ability to dive into detail, solve problems and drive follow‑through.
• Background in travel/medical insurance, assistance/claims, healthcare operations, aviation/logistics, emergency response or similar complex ecosystems.
