Extruder Operator – Plastics Extrusion

About the role
Gallagher is seeking an experienced Extruder Operator to join its Plastics Extrusion team at the Hamilton manufacturing site. Working the afternoon shift, you will play a vital part in delivering safe, efficient, and high‑quality products.
Key responsibilities
- Perform die and tool changes safely and efficiently.
- Set up extrusion lines and manage production start‑ups.
- Monitor product quality and troubleshoot process issues.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, SMED, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and technical teams to maintain smooth operations.
Required profile
- Experience in plastics extrusion or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Plastics extrusion qualifications (Level 2 or 3) are an advantage.
