Estimator – Civil Construction

About the role

Higgins is seeking an Estimator to join its Mount Maunganui team. You will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive tenders and quotes for a variety of civil construction projects, working closely with project teams, suppliers and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed tenders, estimates and pricing plans that meet client and internal requirements.
• Review tender documents to identify scope, risks, assumptions and opportunities.
• Price labour, plant, materials and subcontractor inputs using CCS (Candy) software.
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure accurate and competitive pricing.
• Maintain clear tender records, win/loss tracking, and estimate documentation.
• Complete thorough handovers to operations once tenders are awarded.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent estimating experience.
• Proven tendering experience within roading or civil infrastructure construction.
• Strong working knowledge of estimating tools, including CCS (Candy).
• Confident communicator able to work across technical and non‑technical teams.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
• Organised, methodical approach and sound judgement around risk and pricing.
