Estimating Manager – Civil Infrastructure (Marlborough, NZ)

About the role

HEB Construction is seeking a people‑focused Estimating Manager to lead its estimating function on a major regional redevelopment programme in Marlborough, New Zealand. The role will guide a team of estimators and bid professionals, shaping strategy, accuracy and commercial performance for high‑value civil infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop early bid strategies and ensure each tender is transparent, innovative and commercially sound.
• Drive accuracy, governance and quality across all project estimates.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, designers and internal teams.
• Champion constructability, safety and intelligent risk management from the outset of each project.
• Influence HEB’s market position and contribute to the future growth of the Structures division.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in civil infrastructure estimating, preferably with structures and/or marine projects.
• Proven ability to lead teams, shape culture and develop capability.
• Strong commercial judgement and a passion for first‑principles estimating, ideally in a cost‑control environment.
• Excellent collaboration, influencing and communication skills.
