Employment Relations Business Partner

About the role

Join New Zealand's largest food and support services provider as an Employment Relations Business Partner. You will act as a trusted ER expert, influencing leaders and shaping people decisions across a diverse, national business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice on complex employment and industrial relations matters, including case management and agreement interpretation.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with unions, supporting collective bargaining and positive industrial outcomes.
• Guide managers through personal grievances, disciplinary processes, restructures and ER risk mitigation.
• Develop and maintain ER policies, templates and guidance in line with legislative changes.
• Analyse labour turnover and ER data, delivering insights to improve retention and people outcomes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Employment Relations or Industrial Relations within a complex organisation.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and ER best practice.
• Excellent influencing and relationship‑building abilities with senior leaders.
• Highly organised, analytical and proactive, able to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills, with discretion handling sensitive matters.
