Data Engineer

About the role

Fisher & Paykel is building a world‑class data capability across its new Auckland campuses. As a Data Engineer in the Enterprise Data & Analytics team you will design, build and maintain robust data pipelines that deliver reliable, timely insights to support strategic and operational decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation and distribution across the organisation.
• Write, optimise and quality‑assure complex SQL queries and data transformations for reporting and advanced analytics.
• Define and document data modelling, data quality and data management standards to ensure data integrity.
• Create and deploy reporting and analytics solutions that provide actionable business performance metrics.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Continuously improve data processes, automation and platform scalability.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of experience sourcing, building, analysing and presenting organisational data.
• Strong expertise in SQL and ability to review and optimise queries.
• Hands‑on experience with Power BI and other BI/analytics platforms.
• Proven experience with the Microsoft data stack, including SQL Server, SSIS and SSAS.
• Experience in data modelling, data integration and Change Data Capture (CDC) across multiple source systems.
