Commercial Analyst

About the role

The Commercial Analyst will join the FP&A team of a large New Zealand manufacturing business. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the role provides analytical support for costing, pricing, operations reporting and the annual budgeting process, working closely with Commercial, Sales and Operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain product cost differentials and pricing analysis across a wide range of product variants.
• Provide price guidance to the Sales team, including storage cost modelling and variant pricing.
• Prepare routine operations reporting covering production volumes, product costing and KPI performance.
• Support the Commercial Manager on CAPEX business case analysis.
• Own sections of the annual budgeting process, coordinating with department and site managers.
• Maintain routine financial forecasting, including data validation, driver updates and variance analysis.
• Assist with NPD costing and product lifecycle review processes.
• Contribute to ad‑hoc business projects and process documentation.

Required profile

• CA/CPA qualification (desirable).
• 3+ years experience in commercial finance or FP&A, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG.
• Strong analytical capability with high attention to detail.
• Confident communicator able to build effective cross‑department relationships.
• Self‑starter who can manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
