Civil Worker – Excavation and Ducting Specialist

About the role

NPE-Tech is experiencing strong growth and seeks an experienced Civil Worker to join its New Plymouth team. You will deliver high‑quality civil and electrical services, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate excavators and tipper trucks safely for general civil, trenching and excavation works.
• Install ducting for power mains and services in line with relevant standards and designs.
• Lay high and low voltage power cables in trenches or ducting.
• Assist Lines personnel with electrical equipment installation, complying with codes and regulations.
• Read plans, drawings, specifications and work orders to determine work requirements.
• Use power/hand tools and specialised equipment on site.
• Participate in site and company meetings as required.

Required profile

• Valid NZ driver’s licence.
• Legal right to work in New Zealand (citizen or resident).
• Aptitude for electrical work and motivation to transition to an apprenticeship.
• STMS, Class 2 licence and drilling experience are preferable.
