Chief Financial Officer – Finance Leadership in Hawke’s Bay

About the role

This senior finance position will lead financial reporting, commercial analysis and control for a fast‑growing labour supplier operating in the viticulture and horticulture sectors of New Zealand. Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the Board, you will shape cash‑flow strategy, forecasting and risk management while guiding a small finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee cash‑flow management, scenario modelling, forecasting and budgeting.
• Lead financial reporting, taxation and compliance across the business.
• Manage risk, payroll and the development of finance systems and people.
• Provide accurate, timely information for Board and operational decision‑making.
• Ensure robust financial controls and drive cost and margin management.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Proven experience in senior finance leadership, preferably as a CFO or similar.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation and compliance.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with a practical, hands‑on approach.
• Experience in the primary sector or businesses with seasonal workforce planning is advantageous.
