Category Specialist

About the role

The Category Specialist will become the go‑to expert for coffee and tea categories, providing data‑driven insights that support growth for JDE Peet’s and its retail partners across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously evaluate market trends and JDE coffee and tea performance, reporting findings to key stakeholders.
• Support innovation projects by delivering actionable insights.
• Develop tools and analyses that help optimise sales fundamentals.
• Build a strong reputation within internal teams as the expert on relevant data sources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field.
• Prior FMCG experience with exposure to Nielsen/IRI and Dunnhumby/Quantium data platforms.
• Strong critical‑thinking ability to turn large data sets into actionable recommendations.
• Proven capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Continuous‑improvement mindset and excellent communication skills.
• Valid unrestricted work visa for New Zealand.

Required skills

• Experience using Nielsen/IRI data tools.
• Experience using Dunnhumby and Quantium platforms.
