Business Development Manager – FMCG, Shopper & Category Data and Insights

As a Senior Business Development Manager you will drive new‑business growth by connecting clients with advanced shopper, category and retail insight solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and nurture relationships with leading FMCG manufacturers, brand owners and retailers.
• Identify and generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, inbound enquiries and targeted outreach.
• Lead discovery conversations to uncover commercial challenges and growth objectives.
• Present tailored solutions covering shopper insights, category analytics, retail measurement, consumer intelligence and AI‑enabled products.
• Prepare commercial proposals, negotiate contracts and secure new business.
• Oversee client onboarding and develop long‑term partnerships.
• Represent the company at industry events and networking functions.
• Deliver sustainable revenue growth across the New Zealand market.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in sales, commercial or account management within FMCG, retail or data‑analytics environments.
• Strong knowledge of the New Zealand FMCG and retail landscape.
• Proven track record of building relationships and winning new business.
• Excellent presentation and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Consultative selling mindset with commercial curiosity.
• High energy, resilience and a proactive approach to opportunity creation.
