Business Development Manager - Fleet, Leasing & Trade

About the role

Smith & Smith, part of the Belron group, is looking for a driven, commercially focused Business Development Manager to identify and secure new business opportunities across New Zealand. The role suits a confident relationship builder who can identify opportunities, influence decision-makers, negotiate and turn prospects into long-term customers. It is based at the Support Office in Mount Wellington, Auckland.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new business across existing and emerging markets, with a focus on fleet, leasing, rental and trade opportunities.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities across the Belron NZ profile.
• Work closely with the Commercial team to develop strategic partnerships and deliver sustainable revenue growth.

Required profile

• 3 to 5 plus years' experience in business development or a related commercial role, ideally in the building, construction or service industry.
• Proven track record of winning new business, securing commercial opportunities and exceeding sales targets.
• Strong commercial acumen, relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Highly organised, self-motivated and able to manage multiple opportunities while keeping attention to detail.

Required skills

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and deliver tailored solutions.
• Confident use of CRM systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
